Motion Control Time Lapse Cinematography

To achieve movement during time lapse a custom built motion control rig is used to maneuver the camera. The motion control rig can be programmed to pan, tilt or track the camera over extended periods of time. When the footage is played back the camera appears to be moving at a normal speed while the world around is in time lapse.

Dolly & Tracking System

In a matter of minutes, the tracks can be positioned and leveled from ground level to over 175cm high even over rough terrain. Three standard track lengths are available: 165cm, 300cm, 400cm. Longer tracks are available upon request. The dolly is narrow enough to track through confined spaces such as doors and windows.

Live Action Motion Control Dolly

Using software driven motors to control the dolly, camera tracking moves can be repeated very accurately making it ideal for multi layer compositions. Example 1: elements within a frame can be made to appear or disappear while the camera is tracking. Example 2: Multiple copies of the same actor in the shot.
